A letter to myself on the eve of my 24th birthday

Almost 10pm and lying in bed on the eve of my 24th birthday and I just had the lightening bolt idea to write a letter to myself reflecting on the past 23 years of my life.

This time round it doesn’t even feel like my birthday. Maybe because I’ve realised that birthdays are just another year, where nothing changes except for adding another year to your lifespan!

I have many things to be grateful for.  My loving, caring and supportive family and friends. I finally achieved one of my dream jobs and although I have no holidays planned for this year yet I am looking forward to seeing what the rest of 2017 and being 24 brings! I am open to new opportunities, experiences and meeting new people. I hope to get my first tattoo by the end of 2017 too and to overcome my anxiety. I hope to get into a regular practice of yoga and make a commitment to myself.
